Ladies and Gentlemen, get out your rock ‘n’ roll shoes, and prepare to tune in, turn on, and drop out, because Discoteca Sexadelica will not be televised.

Discoteca Sexadelica is an atomic cabaret/dance-off presented by Cheap Thrills a Go-Go! Movin’, shakin’ and gyratin’ courtesy of Babes in Boinkland and the Notorious P.U.S.S.Y. Galore Go-Go Girls. Eye candy visuals by the Automatic Reaction A/V Geek All-Stars. Beat Train Sound System will be in full effect, laying down their funkiest, fuzziest vinyl nuggets.

You may not realize it, but you are now standing on the verge of getting it on.

Hi Folks,

A bunch of new projects are in the works-so stay tuned for more details…

For now, courtesy of Joey Propeller, here is an apocalyptic youtube mashup of the Velvet Underground vs. Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell (as well as some vinyl rips from some records I picked up recently--all from 45s, with the exception of the Sammy Davis jr. song, which is taken from the lovely Fat Booty Breaks compilation.

Ursula 1000 at Middlesex June 23rd

We’re bringing in DJ/producer extraordinaire Ursula 1000 (Eighteenth Street Lounge Records). He’ll be joining us behind the decks at the Middlesex Lounge
in Cambridge on Wednesday June 23rd–so mark it down in your calendar!

URSULA 1000 is the alter ego of Brooklyn, New York based producer/DJ Alex Gimeno.

His albums and remixes have taken on a broad scope of retro tinged grooves, bumping latin disco funk, sleazy glam rock, and punk electro go go fury.

He has traveled the world dj-ing at places like Fabric, Shambhala, and The Big Chill Festival, all the while creating remixes for the likes of Quincy Jones, Felix Da Housecat, and The Faint. He has also mixed a slew of television soundtracks including the theme of Yo Gabba Gabba and the scores of shows like Grey’s Anatomy. The countless artists he’s collaborated with include Deekline, Ladytron, DJ Ayres, Malente. and his Eighteenth Street Lounge Records labelmate, Thievery Corporation.

On June 23rd at Middlesex Lounge, Ursula 1000 will be in full effect, laying down his lethal blend of psychedelic sonic sorcery, dirty booty breaks, gothic sexcapades, electro dancehall and disco-funk filth.

Beat Train Sound System CD release party at zuzu

hello my 24 hour party people….
Thursday March 18th will be the CD release party for the new Beat Train Sound System CD (with mixes from The Get Up Git Down and Mambo Beat Club). It’ll be at Zuzu in Cambridge, starting at around 10:30pm
there will be free cds for the first 50 people….
i’ll be dropping some über funky party jams to inspire unsavory thoughts.

Hi friends,
I recently was able to escape the cold Boston winter weather for a few days to go hang out in Austin, Texas. Besides eating alot of good Mexican food, DJ’ing at a house party, and enjoying the warm(er) weather, I found time to hit up several of Austin’s excellent record stores, including Antones, Friends of Sound, and Breakaway Records (who’s owner Gabe, is also a well known DJ around Austin-check out his blog at www.secondlinesocial.com.
